Jets’ Elijah Moore frustrated with lack of targets during victory over Packers

Moore has only one target after Zach Wilson returned in Week 4.

The New York Jets extended their winning streak to three games and were undefeated on road following winning against an underdog Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Even so, second-year player Elijah Moore is not too happy about his new role.

After a Twitter post point at the fact that Moore 22, 22, was not a target this weekend and the 2021 second-round draft pick claimed that he did do not “understand” why he was not used – stating that he’s “grateful” for the team’s accomplishments.

“If I say what I really wanna say…I’ll be the selfish guy…we winning. Grateful! Huge blessing! All I ever wanted. [Bitter] sweet for me em but I’ll be solid. So I’ll just stay quiet. Just know I don’t understand either.”

To avoid any confusion about his tweet, Moore added in a second tweet that he supports his team “[100 %].”

“I support allll my teammates [100%] too. Dey know it what it is! I’m behind em like no other. Everyone rocking out neeeeds to keeep rocking out dats part of why we winning! Don’t get it confused either.”

The Jets scored 278 offensive yards, with their quarterback Zach Wilson going 10-of-18 for 110 yards , but the team heavily relied on their running game. The star player running back Breece Hall was Saturday’s top rusher, racking up 116 yards in 20 carries. In addition, the Jets beat the Packers by 179-60.

Moore is 16-for-30 through Week 6 and has only had eight targets over the last three matches since Wilson’s return back to the team.

This is happening in the context that Jets offensive coordinator, Mike LaFleur has created an offense that revolves around running the ball, which has resulted in New York get its best start to the season since the year 2015. Hall and Michael Carter have been the central players to the offense.

“We’re trending upwards,” Hall declared on Sunday. “I feel like a lot of people expected that it would be a surprise if we won this game, but we expected to come in and win this game.”
